Anna the goanna went for a stroll

To greet the day and check how things roll

She stretched up on her hind legs to be tall and regal

And then a human approached – she thought could be lethal

But Anna is brave and so plucked up her courage

She wouldn’t give ground on her favorite spot for to forage.

She swallowed her fear, and as the human came near,

Anna stayed her position – stock still was her mission.

Allowing me this closer glimpse and a picture to snap –

I haven’t seen her since!!
